School has already started in some parts of the country and will be starting soon everywhere else. My children don't start back until after Labor Day (sob), but I am already looking for great prices on lunchbox items and after school snacks and stocking up when I find a good deal.
We go through a ton of CAPRI SUN Big Pouches in our house and Elizabeth loves KOOL-AID LIQUID. I don't need to wait for school to start to be looking for good deals on these. Our house tends to be "Kid Central" in the neighborhood and we always have kids in the house and back yard wanting snacks and drinks! I am always looking for quick and easy (yet somewhat healthy) snack recipes for the kids...but they need to be somewhat frugal, as the money tree in our back yard seems to have stopped producing money!
I have been finding great prices on KRAFT products at Dollar General and since Dollar General also takes manufacturers coupons, I have been saving even more! I love that I don't have to wait for a great sale to save - if I am running low on CAPRI SUN, I know that I can just run out to Dollar General!
The Dollar General website has also been fabulous lately, with lots of great recipes. I especially like the Strawberry Pops recipe (and the kids in the neighborhood like them as well). They are super-easy to make and much better than "regular" freeze pops because they are made with fresh strawberriess!
Soon we will be running around like crazy with school and sports obligations and there are a bunch of meal solutions to be found at a great price at Dollar General. Be it a LUNCHABLES UPLOADED Lunch combination to throw in the kids lunchbox or a VELVEETA CHEESY SKILLET meal as a quick dinner before soccer. Of course, to help keep me going, they also have Maxwell House K-cups (one of these days, I am going to figure out how to set up a coffee IV).
