Looking for an affordable, easy, and/or last-minute Halloween costume idea? Look no further than this super simple Sugar Skull Makeup Tutorial! You'll just need a few inexpensive supplies - most of which you can pick up at the Dollar Store if you'd like! To make things even easier, though, I'll be giving you links to the products online. What's simpler than having everything shipped right to your door?
You'll Need:
- White face makeup (Goth Manic Panic)
- Gel or stick eye shadow (Color Tattoo)
- Black eyeliner (Maybelline gel stick)
- lipstick (optional)
First, surround the eyes with your eye shadow color of choice. Then, cover your entire face (up to hair line, down to jaw line) with white makeup. Allow it to set for a minute, so it doesn't smear when you add the other makeup.
Next, you'll want to outline the eyes. There are lots of possibilities with this one, but simple is best!
Cover the nose with black - either in a heart shape or triangle shape - and then move on to the lips. We went for a "sewn" look this time but as you can see below there are plenty of other options!
With this look, we did a bit more with the eyeliner but kept the eyes simple still. Add a touch of lip stick in the middle of the lips - use a deep red, or even an orange/pink to make it stand out more. Creating a unique sugar skull look is so fun! If you mess up, fixing your mistake is as easy as wiping your face with a makeup remover and starting fresh! I'd love to see the looks you come up with!

My culture is not a fucking Halloween costume for you or your little mayo-stain children. This is so goddamned disrespectful. What the fuck is WRONG with you white people?!?

The Sugar Skull may be something indigenous to your culture, but we live in a global culture and the internet is "a thing". Get over it. It isn't done in a mocking way. My son had a 2-month project in his middle school to learn the history and then recreate the perfect Sugar Skull on paper...and his was awesome!
Get over it!
