I promise that I am not going to turn this blog in to my "frugal blog". I started the other one for a purpose - to keep track of my savings. Since the ideas I am implementing to save all this money are not my own, I don't want to pretend that blog is instructional...it is recordkeeping only.
HOWEVER - I wanted to share today's "catch" with the both of my loyal readers of this blog...
I was pretty bummed this morning. Today I had to miss both a 40th birthday party for one of my friends as well as a St. Patrick's Day party (that is going on as I type this...sniff sniff) because I didn't have a babysitter and Brad is working until about midnight. And what usually cheers me up? Therapy....retail therapy.
So - while The Queen was napping and the Princes were playing the Wii, I pulled out my grocery circulars that came in the mail yesterday and my coupon binder and started comparing.
Then I went to Acme....a store I usually hate, but they had the best sale this week. When The Queen woke up I gathered up the kids and went grocery shopping.
This is what I got:

(16 boxes General Mills "kids cereals", 6 boxes Nature Valley Granola Bars, 3 boxes Pop Secret, 3 bags Bugles, 4 bags Chex Mix, 2 boxes Fruit Snacks, 1 bag cookie mix)
Total value: $104.19
Total paid: $8.68
A few of you have left comments both on this blog and the other one asking me how I have done it. It's been really nice out the last few days so I have been out playing with the kids and not responding as much as I should.
So here's the deal:
Tomorrow after church I will sit down and do a one-time post (perhaps split in to 2) and detail the sites that have taught me how to do this. I think that I'm also going to use Jenefur as my guinea pig for "CVSing". She recently went and earned $9.98 in Extra Care Bucks. I'll detail how she can turn those in to a shitload of more free product
And then we shall never speak of this again (on this blog anyway)
Daisy
Just so you know - I am actually very interested in learning more so... whenever you have time I shall be grateful to read it! 🙂
