If you have done any shopping in the last few weeks (or were given any gifts along with the original receipt), the next two weeks can be a time for some serious savings!
I'm not suggesting that you drive 20 miles out of your way in order to get $5, but if the stores are local to you, it is absolutely worth a drive to the store to check out some prices.
Note: in most cases, you will not get a price adjustment on Seasonal Merchandise, but consider that stores like Kohl's, Macy's, Target and Staples are now running sales in an effort to clear out merchandise to make room for 2009 products.
Keep in mind that, while most stores just need you to present the receipt in order to get your price adjustment, some may only give you the adjustment if you return and rebuy the item. It might be a good idea to check out the policy at your local store before you make the trip!
As for me, I spent the morning looking at after-Christmas sales and I'm heading out right now to get about $100 back!

Michelle:
It's simple: most major stores will give you a price adjustment if you buy an item and it then goes on sale with 7-10 days of the purchase (length of time depends on the store).
Let's say that you bought Microsoft Office Student Edition at Staples on December 19th and it was on sale for $139 with a $40 instant rebate, so you paid $99 out of pocket. Well, this week (through today) it is on sale for $139 with a $50 instant rebate (giving you an out-of-pocket cost of $89). Simply take your receipt to Staples and they will give you a price adjustment ($10 back)
What's more, lets say it was on sale for $79 OOP at Office Max (it isn't, but I'm just giving you an example). If you take the Office max ad to Staples, they will match THAT price.
With all of the after-Christmas sales going on, it is worth looking at your most recent receipts and seeing if you can find anything on sale cheaper than what you paid pre-Christmas!
(but like I said, usually Seasonal merchandise like Christmas ornaments, wrapping paper, etc is not included in price-protection guarantees)

I was just at Kohls to spend some Kohls Bucks and was VERY disappointed that they haven't marked down most items yet any further than I spend pre-holiday. Hopefully within a couple weeks they will. But I did spend my bucks and got a decent deal on a necessity.
