    A little housekeeping...

    by Mindi Cherry

    FacebookPinEmail

Aside from getting a really bad haircut yesterday combined with coloring my hair WAY too dark the day before (and no - I'm not taking any pictures of it.  Suffice it to say that I have really thick hair and I asked her to take some of the weight off....I ended up with what can only be described as a "Rachel" haircut....which would have been fine if this were 1997!), it's been a pretty uneventful two days.  But never fear - I'm having dinner at my mother's house along with some of her old friends tonight, so that should be good for some annoying shit...especially since she has a deep love of crystal knick-knacks on her coffee table and The Queen's other nickname is "el Destructo"!

Edit:  oh hell, why not?  It's not like I have been particularly shy about anything on this thing anyway.  Here's a picture after I tried to do something with it....blowing it out straight meant it stuck flat to my head and made me look like a dark blonde Joan Jett.  I pulled out the curling iron and went for the football helmet look.  Both looks suck and my hair is now fucked (hey Kelly - how's THAT for poetry?) Please ignore the dark circles under the eyes as beer WAS consumed last night.

So let's do a little housekeeping here:

My BlogHopping the last few weeks has been done in the morning with coffee....during the week.  I know that this doesn't keep up with the "spirit" of WeekendBlogHoppers, but I have been spending weekend nights with friends and family lately and my husband is a retail manager so his "weekends" (and my time off from the kids) are during the week.

I am behind on my memes.  I know that I owe Kelly one (the Six Quirks) and there was also one about "10 things that need to be said" (although I can't remember who tagged me for that).  I think I owe another one.  If you tagged me for anything and I haven't done it yet....please let me know!

I'm updating my blogroll and I have a very firm policy:  If you have added me to yours, then I will put you on mine.  Sometimes I click on the name of someone who leaves a comment and find their blog and see that I am on their 'roll.  Thank You!  It means so much to me that you enjoy what I write (although I still haven't figured out why yet).  So, if you are reading this and have me on your blogroll, and I don't have you on mine, please let me know and I will add you!

I'll soon be doing a little giveway of jewelry...most likely earrings.  It will probably be an every-other-week thing (or whenever the hell I feel like it).  I'm just trying to come up with an idea of a contest for it...so if you have any ideas - please pass 'em on and if I pick your idea for the format then you get to be the first winner!

And now I have to go kill my kids and smash the Wii to pieces.  That thing causes more fights in this house than anything!

Man, the memes stress me out. I always forget about them and then feel guilty. I'm an idiot.

My husband is in hospitality management so he has kind of a weird schedule too.

Funny stuff Mindi - I am severely lacking on my ability to properly hop on weekend nights. d Wife often feels ignored (they are so intuitive!) and it thus cuts my hoppability. I sneak residual hopping in the mornings. Often from my car as Fury is in sports class. I swear, one of these days I'm gonna go "walk the dog" and just bring my laptop and sit on a bench and hop. Hey, it's about time we rolled. Blog rolled, that is.

Though I know it's shocking, the new "Rachel" is actually chic again.

OMG! The meme's are killing me. I have a list that I'll probably just never get through, and they totally stress me out...because I'm a loser.

      Bloghopper's RULE!!! 🙂

Don't even worry about the six quirks, I'm so over the meme thing. I think I may become a meme free zone. Seriously, there are just too many of those damn things floating around.
      Peace!

I think I could make a ton of money as a Wii hitman.

For what it's worth, I love your hair.
