My family loves desserts and while I try to make them think that fruit is a fabulous dessert, they remain unconvinced. The struggle continues!
So if I am going to give in and make them a dessert, I at least want it to be an easy recipe and this no-bake Cherry Chocolate Chip Pie recipe can be whipped up fairly quickly - and then you just need to chill it for a few hours before serving!
If you don't want to use a ready-made pie crust (I don't like them that much because I prefer to serve it in a prettier dish than foil), you can always make your own oreo pie crust using the directions in my Oreo Cheesecake Bars recipe!
To make it, you will need:
- 1 ready made Chocolate Cookie Pie Crust
- 8 oz softened Cream Cheese
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup thawed Cool Whip
- 1 ¼ cup Semisweet Mini Chocolate Chips
Making it is easy!
Simply beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until it is smooth. Fold in the whipped topping and cherry pie filling.
Fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chips.
Pour the mixture in to the cookie crust and sprinkle the top with the rest of the chocolate chips. Chill and serve!
