Now that the weather is warming up, it is more important to stay hydrated, especially if the kids are outside playing or you are working in the garden!
Of course, we all know that just plain water is the best thing to drink to cool you down, but sometimes you just want a little sweetness. When that happens, I prefer to first turn to something as simple as some infused water, but my children want soda or lemonade.
With this homemade pink lemonade recipe, I can give them just that, but without all the chemicals that are in soda and the powdered mixes. Yes - it still has quite a bit of sugar in it, but you can use organic sugar and just limit this to an infrequent treat! (but in the meantime, I still prefer my blueberry mint water!)
To make this homemade pink lemonade, you will need:
- 2 ½ cups sugar
- 2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 ½ cup cranberry juice (get 100% juice, not "cranberry cocktail")
- 5 cups water
- additional lemon slices (for garnish)
