I know that I said I was going to take it easy and not blog for a few days beyond the bare minimum, but the children are all huddled over their new DSi's (yes - even the 3-year old got one...gotta love grandparents!) and Brad is "resting his eyes" on the sofa and we have 2 hours until we leave for my mothers house! And quite frankly, you have all become like family to me and it seems natural for me to want to share what is probably one of the nicest Christmases we have had so far.
First of all, Santa gave me sleep! I actually slept until 7:20am, even though I was asleep by 11:00pm last night. If you remember, until this morning, sleeping until 4:30am was considered "sleeping in" for me. Even better...the kids slept until almost 8:00am!
Christmas Eve was spent at my father's house, as I have every Christmas Eve since my parents divorced when I was 6. Actually - it hasn't been every Christmas Eve. In 34 years, there was ONE Christmas Eve that I didn't spend with my father....and that was only because he was sick and went to the hospital. Considering my husband has a family as well, I consider that a gift that he gives me each year....the continuing of a tradition that is very important to me! The boys got bikes from my father, and I got my beloved coffeemaker!
This morning, after everyone was awake, dressed & teeth brushed, we opened gifts (yeah - I'm kind of anal...I want everyone to look nice for the pictures). The boys were thrilled to get their Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles. For them, it was the 2009 edition of the Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle (with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time). Santa brought them to my boys courtesy of Chris Byrne (The Toy Guy) of Time To Play Magazine and Jakks Pacific. I met Chris at a bloggers event organized and hosted by Sarah and Shannon of Chester County Moms and they were a raffle item. After I put every one of my raffle tickets in to try and win them (and didn't win), Chris offered to send them to me for my boys. Within minutes of them opening them, the boys had locked themselves in the hall bathroom (the only windowless room in the house) and were screaming out everything they saw! Now that they have the ability to see in the dark, I'm thinking it might be a good idea for me to start locking my bedroom door at night! (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
Of course, I saved the best for last.....
I might have possibly mentioned a certain Coach bag one or two (or eight) times. First, let me explain that, while Brad loves my website, I never thought he read it. About a month ago, I told him that I couldn't believe that some of you wrote that you were actually looking for the bag for me. I thought it was one of those "throwaway" conversations...one that he really didn't pay attention to (hey - we've been married since 1994!). Turns out he was listening. I found out that he tried (and failed, but it's the thought that counts) to get me that bag. He had the name, style number and everything. He even found it on eBay, but it was missing some sequins. And so - he got me the next best thing.....pretty much the same bag in black and silver! (and - once he knew the style number, he found out that it was not getting the best reviews...something about sequins falling off and the snakeskin peeling).
It's almost like I got my Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle, just without a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time....and that is good enough for me!
There is only one word for my husband.....Awesomeness!
Again, Merry Christmas!

Can I send my husband to your house for lessons? I got a mouse. Serious. He bought me a mouse for the netbook I got when I got a new job 2 months ago. I recently "borrowed" his mouse and told him how much I loved having one. I got a mouse. He got a Kraftsman 2 tiered toolbox, a PS3, a Wii game and a light saber, a personalized photo calendar and 2 packs of boxer briefs from me. Did I mention I got a mouse? Yes, I did cry. Hey, I'm 6+ months pregnant, cut me some emotional slack would ya?
On another note, please email me back as I need some help with my blog and I am looking for a way to make it more personalized and user friendly without buying the dot com.

Oh Heather! 🙁 Take the credit card and buy yourself a few gifts then hand hubby the bill. Tell him it's a Merry After Christmas present for yourself. I feel for you, the year I was pregnant with my son I received one of those belts for your back and a few other pregnancy things. My birthday was forgotten -- it was horrible. Treat yourself to a massage if you don't want buy yourself anything.
