I know that we all agreed that memes are evil, but this is one that you sign up for and requires more thought than simply trying to remember if you had more Holly Hobbie or Strawberry Shortcake dolls when you were a child....and it's an interesting question. And you don't have to tag anyone. And I just feel like doing it today. So there!
1. You find that your best friend has stolen money to pay for medical treatment for a seriously ill relative. What would you do?
The first thing I would do is kick the crap out of her for not coming to me for help first. I may not have had the money to give her, but I would have liked the opportunity to help her try to come up with a solution that didn't carry the possibility of jail time.
Situational ethics can be a bitch. Did she steal it from a church, a school, a charity and employee pension fund or a small business? Then I would be all over her like white on rice to return it (anonymously, because she is still my friend and I don't want her going to jail). Did she steal it from a very large company, especially one that I believe operates in a morally bankrupt manner? I would probably still urge her to return the money, but maybe not as strongly if it was stolen from a "good" company. It's horrible to say, but I guess that there are some companies that I feel are so bad that I don't give a shit if someone steals from them. I know that it is wrong to think that way, yet I still do.
I wouldn't turn her in to the police, but our friendship would be forever changed...and probably not for the better.
What would you do?
2. What three things do you regret not learning to do?
I'm trying to think of something that I have not yet learned how to do that it is now impossible for me to learn......and you know what? There isn't anything. It's never too late to learn piano, Spanish or how to use that evil Photoshop.
It's just a matter of getting off my ass and doing it.
And you?

I have a friend (well, we're not friends anymore) steal over $200,000 from the retirement community where we worked. It wasn't for medical expenses, but for her Durango, $600 Coach bags and weekly shopping at the exclusive boutiques downtown.
I regret not taking a real maternity leave. HUGE regret in my life.
I regret not finishing my degree. I received a promotion and thought, screw it. I don't need that. But I do for myself.
I think that's it.
Maria [Immoral Matriarch]
I wouldn't tell.
And I don't regret anything really.
I still need to learn Photoshop too. 🙂

I like your answer for #2. I feel the same way about things I haven't learned yet ... they're just on my list to learn now, that's all.

I love this. I want to learn to play the guitar. Despite the fact that the only musical training I ever had was when I was the last chair in band in the fourth grade, playing the clarinet, no less. I still want to do it. I'm going to. Just watch me!

Nice answers! I struggled with the second question too.

Spanish, check (that's my native tongue). The other two, pending as well....
Happy MM!

1) I would suggest they give the money back.
2) I regret not learning a second language.
