This easy Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake is so delicious and will fill your house with the most wonderful scent!
My whole family loves cinnamon rolls. While they are perfectly happy with just the ones that you buy in the tubes in the grocery store, I like to make sure that we always have at least a batch of homemade cinnamon rolls in the freezer that I can throw in the oven (I just pull it out the night before to thaw).
But just plain cinnamon rolls, while delicious, can get boring after a while! This Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake is a great way to serve something different, with items you probably already have on hand (if you don't keep heavy cream in your refrigerator, you can always substitute half & half or even whole milk).
One of the best parts about this recipe is that it requires very little planning or time management and can be thrown together at the last minute. Like I said, you likely have all the ingredients on hand and, unlike my crockpot french toast recipe, you don't have to get up early to have it ready in time for breakfast or set a timer for it to start cooking in the middle of the night!
Of course, the easy way this is to just use the refrigerated cinnamon rolls from the grocery store, but I really urge you to try it using my homemade cinnamon rolls (just make them according the to recipe and then follow the steps as if they were the refrigerator ones). Not only does it taste better that way, but you will know every ingredient that is in it - and nothing is artificial!
Anyway, to make it, you will need:
- 2 tablespoon melted Butter
- 1 can Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls
- 3 Eggs, slightly beaten
- ¼ cup Heavy Cream
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- ¼ cup Pecans
- ¼ cup Maple Syrup
Making it is easy!
Simply pour the butter in the bottom of an 8" X 8" pan. Open the can of cinnamon rolls and cut each one in to 8 pieces and place in the baking dish.
Beat together the eggs, cream, cinnamon and vanilla and pour over the cinnamon rolls
Top with the pecans and drizzle with syrup. Bake at 350 for about 22 minutes
Allow to cool and drizzle with the icing and a dusting of powdered sugar!

The recipe says 8 x 8 . Looks like a 9 x 13 ? Just making sure don't want a boil over. Lol

Yes - the original recipe is for an 8x8...but my family inhales that in about 60 seconds so when I double the recipe, I use a 9x13
