    Crockpot French Toast Recipe

I am just getting started with experimenting with breakfast recipes in the crockpot (make sure to try my crockpot breakfast casserole recipe!) and this crock pot french toast recipe is another winner! It is so sweet and moist you don't even need to top it with syrup (although you certainly can if you want).

17 Breakfast Recipes to Get You Energized
Need some more breakfast ideas? Here are 17 recipes to get you energized!

This would be a great recipe to throw together at night before you go to bed. If you have a timer on your crockpot, you can just set it to start 4 hours before you are ready to eat it. If you are uncomfortable letting the mixture sit out on your counter before it starts to cook (we keep our house pretty cool, so this wouldn't bother me), you can set your crockpot to the Warm setting and let it cook for 8 hours that way (you will want to experiment with your crockpot to make sure that this method works with your model - it was fine with mine).

Hosting a brunch? Throw everything together in the morning while you are getting everything else ready. It will be one more hands-off recipe that you can have ready without making too much of a mess!

The secret to the success of this recipe is the french bread. Buy a baguette that morning and slice it up about an hour before you are ready to put everything together. You want to give the bread a little time to react with the air and get a little dry, but not too dry.

And of course, you can omit the pecans if you like - I just happen to love the combination of brown sugar and pecans!

To make this crock pot french toast recipe, you will need:

    crockpot french toast ingredients

    Ingredients:

    • 1 loaf French Bread
    • 8 Eggs
    • 2 cup Milk
    • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon Sugar
    • ¾ cup Brown Sugar
    • ½ cup softened Butter
    • 2 teaspoon Cinnamon
    • ½ cup Pecans

This was soggy on the bottom and dry and crusty on the top. I left it on warm all night, then on high for the last 45 minutes. My kids wouldn't eat it because they said the texture was gross.
