Essential oils are powerful enough on their own to help with everyday tasks like cleaning and purifying the air, but did you know that some essential oils also have the power to heal? Each essential oil brings its own perks to the table, but these three oils could really change the way you look at essential oils forever. If you are looking to get started with essential oils, these are really the 3 best ones to try first!
Peppermint Oil
Not only does peppermint essential oil have the power to relax you and relieve headache pains, it can also help with a stomach ache. Peppermint is ideal if you have a stomach ache and need something to help calm you down. You can ingest a few drops, or you can rub a few drops directly on the stomach.
If you suffer from heart burn, make sure you consider peppermint. To help with heart burn, you can make a tea out of your peppermint oil to sip on (or just add a few drops of peppermint oil to your tea). You’ll want to do this as soon as you feel the heart burn coming on, and you will want to slowly sip the tea to reap all of the benefits that peppermint brings to the table.
Of course, if you are taking peppermint oil (or any oil) internally, you want to make sure that it is therapeutic grade oil (like Young Living Oils). Many oils that you can buy in the supermarket or health store should NOT be taken internally, so be sure to read the label!

Tea Tree Oil
There is so much to be said about tea tree oil. This is one essential oil you need to have in your home for the “what ifs” in life.
First of all, tea tree oil is very powerful, so a little bit goes a very long way. This particular essential oil has a positive reputation with things like getting rid of warts and infections.
Another great use of tea tree oil is the power to help loosen congestion. You may hear of people using tea tree oil in vaporizers, to help loosen mucus in the chest. A major health benefit of using tea tree oil is to disinfect items when someone is sick. Instead of spraying cleaners like Lysol, you can make a little solution of tea tree oil and a carrier oil like coconut oil to ward off the bacteria.
If you have children, you will also want to make sure to have tea tree oil on hand and always add some to your shampoo bottles. Tea Tree Oil is famous for repelling lice and that is one "gift" that you don't want your kids bringing home from school or playdates!
Lavender
Out of any essential oil, you probably hear about lavender the most. There is a reason for that. Lavender essential oil has a lot of healing power, most notably with helping with insomnia. This essential oil has been known to calm down anything from a colicky baby to help a grown man sleep at night.
Lavender has such an incredible scent and power to it that it’s known for helping people mentally. If you’re suffering from depression, then lavender is known to help perk up your brain and body a little. Lavender is also known for helping to heal things like burns, cuts and scrapes. You can apply lavender directly on a wound to get healing power immediately. Be sure to check out my 11 Uses for Lavender Oil post for even more uses for this versatile oil!
Essential oils may sound too good to be true, but they are for real. Their healing properties were used way before our time and are slowly coming back into focus as a healthier way to treat illnesses and injuries and helping people to lead a more natural life.
